Performance Art: The haunted world of Albert Bagman

Albert Bagman is a freak folk performance art act that originated in Baltimore, MD. The project has been a facilitator for exploring videography, recording, puppeteering, set design, and costume assembly. Not only does the project exist in documentation, but is a project which tours, entertaining audiences everywhere. It is an all-year-round Halloween project, a spooky but wholesome persona. Albert has many faces, each album exploring a different facet of the foreign but familiar haunting feeling. Whether Albert is wearing a paper, burlap or popcorn bag, the audience finds themselves strangely amused and simultaneously spooked with each variation.

Kory Johnson reflects on Albert Bagman

The project began in 2014 and has been an active project since. This is a video where Johnson reflects on the years and phases which Albert has changed and developed. It discusses the creation of the Bag masked character, directing, live shows/touring, and future plans for the project as of January 2020.

Music

Johnson writes, records and performs on nearly all the instruments of the albums to date. MISS MORTITIONER was the first single release, since then, albums BURLAP, CURSE, & STRAW have been released. The VISITORS album is where Johnson worked with Walker Boyle, Hannah Holt, Kevin Antoszewski, and Mikey Powers, having them perform all the orchestral instruments on the album.
