Kory Albert Johnson (he/him) is a BFA graduate from Columbus College of Art & Design with a focus on sculpture and minor in Film and Video. Johnson’s senior thesis explores notions of mortality, dissecting human’s relationship with the forest. His intention is to facilitate a space where the public can safely explore the haunting elements of nature, encourage exploration of our temporality, and contemplate our relationship with lived environments. Through the isolation with navigating the forest, the individual is confronted with their well-being and position within the present. Johnson is a multidisciplinary artist with a background of performance art, organizing and curating both entertaining and ethereal experiences. His avant-garde project Albert Bagman resulted in recognition from CCAD in 2020, awarding him the CCAD Goodale Park Scholarship and Helen Winnemore Endowed Scholarship. His paintings have been recognized among the Columbus creative community, and he was awarded with the 2023 Pamela Workman Endowed Prize.
